RTP seeks playwrights for Play Reading Series

The Reading Theater Project's Play Reading Series creates opportunities for playwrights to see and hear their work and receive feedback on new plays. RTP creates a safe artistic space for playwrights to return to again and again to develop new work before sending it out for performance and publication.

Selected plays will receive a staged reading. The readings in the series are all public, with admission by donation, and followed by a discussion with the audience and playwright, facilitated by the Artistic or Literary Director of Reading Theater Project.

The series is open to playwrights from Berks County, Pennsylvania, or any surrounding county (Lancaster, Lebanon, Schuylkill, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Chester). One-act plays or full-length plays are welcome; plays should be performance-ready. Plays will be performed in the Greater Reading, Pennsylvania, area. Playwrights are required to attend the reading and are encouraged to be a part of the rehearsal process.

Submit plays or send questions to plays@readingtheaterproject.com. All plays must be sent in pdf format, with a cover letter detailing the history of the play and goals for the public reading. Submit plays or send questions to plays@readingtheaterproject.com.

Play submissions are accepted anytime.
